Daring you to read Meme

A Meme by Tynga’s Reviews. Well, what would I dare everyone to read? Herm, that’s a toughy because well, not everyone may like my choices. Oh, dear. Let’s see. for the fantasy fans

Elric (of course). From Good reads:

It is the colour of a bleached skull, his flesh; and the long hair that flows below his shoulders is milk-white. From the tapering, beautiful head stare two slanting eyes, crimson and moody….He is Elric, Emperor of Melnibone, cursed with a keen and cynical intelligence, schooled in the art of sorcery — the hero of Michael Moorcock’s remarkable epic of conflict and adventure at the dawn of human history…

For the Romance fans…herm…. I’d suggest delving into … some C.L. Wilson. 🙂 .Okay, she could fit under Fantasy too, but still.

From Good Reads:

Once he had scorched the world.

Once he had driven back overwhelming darkness.

Once he had loved with such passion, his name was legend…

Now a thousand years later, a new threat calls him from the Fading Lands, back into the world that had cost him so dearly. Now an ancient, familiar evil is regaining its strength, and a new voice beckons him–more compelling, more seductive, more maddening than any before.

As the power of his most bitter enemy grows and ancient alliances crumble, the wildness in his blood will not be denied. The tairen must claim his truemate and embrace the destiny woven for him in the mists of time.

YA? Herm… I’d have to say my favorite series are Meg Cabot’s Princess Diaries, Also, Tamora Pierce’s Alanna:

Alan of Trebond, the best warrior in the palace, is harboring a big secret: he is really a she – Alanna. But when her prince is felled by an illness, Alanna has no choice but to use her healing magic – even if it means ruining her career.

and the Circle of Magic books, which began with Sandry’s Book:

With her gift of weaving silk thread and creating light, Sandry is brought to the Winding Circle community. There she meets Briar, a former thief who has a way with plants; Daja, an outcast gifted at metalcraft; and Tris, whose connection with the weather unsettles everyone, including herself. At Winding Circle, the four misfits are taught how to use their magic – and to trust one another. But then disaster strikes their new home. Can Sandry weave together four kinds of magical power and save herself, her friends, and the one place where they’ve ever been accepted?

For Mystery? Well, There’s the Tom Harris Hannibal Lecter novels, and various cozy mysteries. Also some classics try Poe’s The Murders in the Rue Morgue. All those are very good.

So there you go, my dares for you. 🙂 Enjoy.
